Well, I was not talking about being banned at all. A single piece of artwork can be reported to have it removed, which does not mean your entire account goes down. It just means that a single piece of art that you uploaded gets deleted.

dA policy, like any other on this Earth, can be manipulated. Most people who manipulate it don't even realize they are doing it. They are well intended, so my statement here is for the well intended to check and balance themselves. To ask themselves if they are upholding policy, or if they merely find the work tasteless and are trying to enforce their own minority views on the majority.

This piece is not anti-anything but rather "pro-thinking before you act".

Sure -- there are those with malevolent intent who enjoy forcing their own views on majority groups. They get a thrill out of it. They feel justified in doing it and vindicated should they succeed. However, these are closed minded people and they will keep doing it regardless of what you might say to them. My message is for the open minded, who genuinely are trying to help dA and are not trying to harm it just for the sake of boosting their own egos.

Its a dice roll, because both camps of people exist on both sides of the fence. You have those with the authority to delete the deviantions who see the reports, who enjoy the reports coming in because they feel powerful cracking that cyber whip of theirs. Then of course, you have those who are just trying to keep dA in proper running order on the Admin side. So, when a report is made its a dice roll.

So those whom are well intended are still human. They always start out with genuinely trying to help out, but they end up becoming far too subjective without even realizing that this has happened to them. Instead of focusing on what may or may not be a breach of policy, they begin to focus on what they feel is "real art" versus what they feel is "not real art". This inhibits creativity and freedom of expression.

What is and is not real art falls under the same concept as beauty -- as far as being in the eye of the beholder.

So, I am simply intending to encourage people to respect differences of opinion -- and that just because you might not be able to see the beauty or even the point of a piece of art, does not mean that neither beauty nor a point reside within the art, simply because you are unable to see it. I can't see China but I'm pretty sure its there on the planet someplace

So this deviation is not intended to bitch about the wrong-doers, but rather -- to encourage the well intended to do whats right.
